HID, a provider of trusted identity and physical access control solutions, has launched HID Signo Décor in response to a longstanding demand from architects, specifiers, and integrators: a Signo-grade reader designed for high-end spaces without compromising security.
The Signo Décor Reader 30 mounts flush with European- and China-style back boxes and features a durable glass face rated IK10 for impact resistance and IP65 for indoor and outdoor use. Designed for high-end lobbies, hotels, transport hubs, and mixed-use developments, it combines a refined appearance with durability for demanding daily use.
"Security should not force a choice between how a space looks and how well it is protected," said Prabhuraj Patil, Senior Director, Physical Access Control Solutions (PACS) for ASEAN and India Subcontinent, HID. "This belief is what drives HID’s product development: to give customers choice without asking them to trade away the trust they have placed in our Signo line."
Décor uses the same architecture as the rest of the Signo family, allowing specifiers and integrators to incorporate it into design-led projects without sacrificing the security and capabilities of the existing platform. It features EAL5+-certified secure-element hardware, supports the SIO data model for trusted authentication, and communicates with control panels via the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) for encrypted, two-way monitoring. Native Bluetooth and NFC support allows users to present a smartphone as easily as a card, with HID® Mobile Access® and digital wallet credentials supported alongside existing access cards.
For teams managing readers across multiple buildings, the consistency extends to day-to-day operations. Signo Décor can be updated and monitored through HID Reader Manager or remotely via HID Linq, keeping firmware and configurations current without requiring technicians to visit individual doors. It is also available as a module for integration into intercoms, elevators, turnstiles, and other access hardware, giving OEM partners a consistent design language across their product lines.
The Signo Décor Reader 30 is available in black or white in a 90 × 90 mm form factor and can be ordered now in Europe, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UAE. Additional Signo Décor variants will be available in other regions later this year.
