Today’s cities face a variety of safety and infrastructure issues caused by rapidly growing population, rising crime rates, and frequent unplanned incidents like acts of terrorism and severe weather events. As a leading provider of mission-critical and business-critical solutions, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure is uniquely positioned to help public safety agencies and city governments address these challenges to improve operations, increase city-wide collaboration, expand stakeholder engagement, and modernize services.

This is the message we will deliver as part of Hexagon’s sponsorship and exhibition at the upcoming Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona.

At this year’s event, we will demonstrate how Hexagon’s technology solutions help make cities safer. As part of our partnership with Microsoft, Intergraph Mobile Responder will be in Microsoft’s connected patrol car. Our recently released Intergraph OnCall Dispatcher will also be on display in Microsoft’s exhibit area (Stand C-301) as part of the Control Room and Response solutions demo station.

In Hexagon’s exhibit area (Stand C-327), we will feature many of our Safe City-focused applications, including Intergraph Planning & Response, Intergraph Computer-Aided Dispatch, Intergraph OnCall Dispatcher, Intergraph Mobile Responder, Smart M.Apps, and several of our utilities and communications solutions. We’ll also have a presence in the Huawei booth (Stand B-201).

During the event, attendees can also hear how our industry expertise and solutions align with their Smart City and Safe City initiatives and strategies.

Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s President Steven Cost is participating on the panel, “Bend Not Break: Preparing Our Cities to Respond to Emergencies and Disasters.” Steven will discuss the importance of thinking forward, and how an integrated technology framework – one that fosters collaboration across all city functions – can result in safer cities.

From our EMEA team, Uwe Jasnoch, director of government, transportation and defense, is part of the panel, “Rethinking Urban Infrastructure in the Digital Age.” Uwe will highlight how cities must leverage digital innovation to improve infrastructure and services.

Hexagon’s Chief Technology Officer Claudio Simão is participating on the panel, “Engaging and Empowering People Using Data and Digital Innovations.” Claudio will discuss the importance of 5D-enabled apps and edge connectivity in extending the power of improvement to the community while overcoming privacy and time-sensitivity challenges.

If you’re going to this year’s Smart City Expo World Congress, I encourage you to attend these sessions and visit the Hexagon, Microsoft, and Huawei exhibit areas to see our Smart and Safe City solutions in action.
