CLD Appoints Giovanni Cossu As Head, Sustainability

Singapore – Giovanni Cossu has joined CapitaLand Development (CLD) as Head, Sustainability on 7 July 2023, reporting to Tan Wee Hsien, CEO, New Business & Strategic Planning.

His role and responsibilities include driving the expansion of CLD’s green competencies across the life cycle of building and precinct projects as part of the company’s core growth strategy, as well as championing all sustainability initiatives and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) efforts.

Before joining CLD, Giovanni led strategic sustainability initiatives and developments at the National University of Singapore (NUS), overseeing the sustainable development of campus-wide assets to integrate net-zero, health and wellbeing targets and alike. His projects included Singapore’s first new-build net-zero energy building, SDE4 at NUS College of Design and Engineering, along with advisory/consultancy services for Sustainability and ESG in developing strategic partnerships in the region.

Prior to joining NUS, Giovanni worked as a sustainability consultant with various organisations in Italy, Germany, and China.

CLD is the development arm of CapitaLand Group, with a portfolio worth S$21.9 billion as at 31 March 2023.

CDL is primarily focused on Asia Pacific, with Singapore, China and Vietnam as its core markets.
