On 27 March 2025, The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) formally introduced the new Board for the 2025 to 2027 term of office which Mr Allen Ang will lead as the 9th SGBC President.

The Head of Green Building, Decarbonisation and Safety at City Developments Limited (CDL) and an SGBC Founding Member, Mr Ang is a recognised pioneer in green building practices. Under Mr. Ang’s advocacy, CDL became Southeast Asia’s first real estate conglomerate and Singapore’s first developer to sign the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC)’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment in 2021.

His expertise in driving net-zero carbon commitments and embedding sustainability into corporate strategies positions him as a transformative leader for SGBC. With a distinguished career in sustainability and green building innovation, Mr Ang brings a wealth of experience and a bold vision to accelerate built environment sustainability in Singapore and beyond.

As the new SGBC President, Mr Ang will focus on three key priorities:

  1. Expand Green Building Practices to Occupants and Users—Mr Ang will deepen engagement with occupants and end-users, placing well-being and environmental stewardship at the heart of a greener and healthier built environment.
  2. Strengthening Industry Collaboration—Mr Ang will foster deeper partnerships with SGBC Members, government agencies, and international organisations to drive innovation and share best practices.
  3. Empowering Green Professionals—Through enhanced training and education programmes, Mr. Ang aims to equip our growing pool of Green Mark Professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to lead the sustainability transformation.
