Singapore – The Society of Interior Designers Singapore (SIDS) will build on its successful SIDA 2016 campaign with the launch of SIDA 2017, continuing its track-record of putting Singapore design on the world map.

SIDA 2017 was unveiled at a launch party held at Goodrich Building on 7 December 2017.

The SIDA 2017 Launch unveiled three new award categories for SIDA 2017. Aside from the original SIDA Awards, the new award categories include SIDA Concept Awards, SIDA Luminary Awards and the SIDA Recognition Awards.

Open to both international and local applicants, SIDA aims to win recognition of Singapore's standards in design excellence in the global interior design industry.

Commenting on SIDA 2017, Mr Astley Ng, SIDS Council member and Vice Chair of SIDA Awards (2016-2018), said: “I believe that we are on the cusp of a huge boom for design as Asian economies continue to lead global growth. Both corporates and consumers appreciate better design and see it as a strong competitive edge. The demand for good design will increase with the rising demand for more unique, environmentally-sustainable buildings and urban landscapes. Singapore, with its established status as the UNESCO Creative City of Design will be well positioned to ride this design-driven wave and seize new opportunities for its creative agencies as well as designers in a broad spectrum of design disciplines - such as industrial, fashion, technology, architecture, and interior design. SIDA aims to be a platform to support visionaries who want to be a part of this growth.

Submissions for the Awards will close on 31 December 2017 with judging by a panel of both local and foreign judges taking place in February 2018 and the announcement of the winners will be made in March 2018.
