The inaugural event, which was held in partnership with Archifest 2017, saw some of Singapore's biggest design firms battle it out, as they competed head-to-head to create some of the world's most iconic buildings, entirely out of cake.

The team from DP Architects were crowned this year's winners with their winning entry of Singapore's iconic Esplanade. WATG came in second place with their realistic representation of the Yanlord Crowne Plaza Resort "The Boat", Hainan Island, China. The tastiest building went to CPG with their creation of Singapore's Gardens by the Bay.

"We were truly blown with all of the entries that we had this year," said Chris Panfil, Vice President & Director of Strategic Planning & Urban Design, WATG. "All teams showed a great level of commitment and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. The standard of design was outstanding and following the success of this year, we're already looking forward to hosting 2018 here again in Singapore."

Other entries this year included Cistri, with their take on the Esplanade Concert Hall, Gensler with the Shanghai Tower, Ministry of Design with the Iconic Pearl Bank, P + A with an Iconic Shophouse and URA with The Interlace.

This year's judging panel included leading industry experts, Suan Chiang Tay, Architect and Design Correspondent for The Business Times; Eve Felder, Managing Director, The Culinary Institute of America, Singapore; Samuel Maruta, Chairman & Co-Founder, Marou Chocolate Company; Michelle Yong, Director, Aurum Land, Co-Founder of Collision 8 and fourth generation family business leader in Woh Hup; Vivian Pei, well known culinary influencer; and Fong Hoo Cheong, Executive Director, Singapore Institute of Architects.
