The third edition of Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition (CICEE 2023) has recently concluded. Held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Hunan province, China, from 12 to 15 May 2023, the event focused on the theme ‘High-End, Intelligent, and Green – New Generation of Construction Machinery’.
This year’s CICEE drew about 1,502 exhibitors and more than 300,000 visitors from around the world, on an exhibition area of 300,000 sq m. The organisers said due to the pandemic, this was the first large-scale exhibition in China after the 2021 CICEE.
The event was also the first large-scale international exhibition of Chinese construction machinery following the implementation of the ‘national IV emission standard,’ said the organisers. As such, all machines and equipment on display – including engines and other core components – comply with this new national emission standard.
According to the organisers, CICEE 2023 attracted a large number of international visitors for three main reasons. “Firstly, the quality and performance of Chinese construction machinery have greatly improved over the past two years, making them popular among global users and increasing exports.
“Secondly, the organisers actively promoted the exhibition through international media and organised multiple overseas professional visiting groups, including delegations from ASEAN, India, East Asia, and South America. Officials from 33 countries also attended the opening ceremony.
“Thirdly, many local companies held their international events during this period, such as Zoomlion Heavy Industry, Sany Heavy Industry, and Xingbang Technology.”
In addition, various conferences and seminars by major industry organisations took place at the CICEE 2023. Among these organisations were the China Machinery Industry Federation, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, China Construction Industry Association, China Construction Enterprise Association, China International Contractors Association, China Chemical Construction Enterprise Association, China Civil Engineering Society, China Highway Society, China Construction Machinery Society, and China Society for Metals.
