Lead 8 has been appointed as lead design architect for the SkyCity Airport RDE complex in Hong Kong, which is being developed by New World Development Company Limited. The project is scheduled to be completed in phases from 2023 to 2027, with retail, dining and modern entertainment facilities. The site has an area of 25 ha, and will provide a maximum gross floor area of 350,000 sq m.

Located directly adjacent to the Hong Kong International Airport, the SkyCity is set to be a super-regional connector accessible by air, sea and land via trains, cars and buses. Linked by a series of sky bridges, it is also centrally connected to the airport, Airport Express, Asia World Expo, Future Regal Hotel, and the surrounding Northern Lantau NCD sites.

Integrating a transportation terminal to accommodate the influx of visitors from the newly constructed Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link, the SkyCity is positioned to play a key role in driving the future growth of the Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road initiatives.

Based in Hong Kong, Lead 8 is an international design studio specialising in architecture, interiors, masterplanning, branding and graphics design. The company was founded in 2014 with a global team of over 200 design experts in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and London (the UK).
